We thank you for
visiting our site today. We hope that you will find
this
webpage to be informative as well as enriching. As you
see the picture of deaf members at the right, they come to the
church every Sunday and Wednesday, they worship God together
and they study the Bible. After the worship service they stay
together to talk with each others in American Sign Language
(ASL), and they enjoy a wonderful fellowship with one
another. The Bible tells us more about the importance of
being fellowship with one another (see Acts 2:42; 1
Corinthians 1:9; Philippians 2:1-2; Philemon 1:6; 1 John
1:5-10).
Perhaps you have heard of the church of
Christ through advertisement or surfing websites through
internet or by special invitation from its members. Maybe
there is a building in your community where the church of
Christ meets, and you have considered attending one of their
worship services. But you have put it off simply because of
the dread of going to a strange place, not knowing what to
expect.
May we briefly introduce ourselves and let
you know what to expect
when you visit us. About our
congregation, we are a growing group of Christians dedicated
to helping others, and sharing the gospel of Christ with the
people in Jasper, Crossroads community, and the world around
us. Friendliness is a natural response of a Christian. We
believe that one of the basic foundation principles of
Christianity is love and friendship toward our fellowman
(Matthew 22:36-40). When you come and visit us at Crossroads,
you can expect a warm friendly welcome. If you plan to visit
us but you may not know where we are located, please click on
"Maps" at the left side menu
and you would be able to see three maps at the next page.
True
Christianity
True Christianity recognizes no social
or racial differences (Galatians 3:28). Neither does it permit
respect of persons on the basis of poverty or wealth (James
2:1-9). Jesus is our superb example in friendliness, in that
He was compassionate toward all humanity, regardless of their
status in life. We were sinners but we are alive in Christ
through our faith. We believe you will find that same spirit
among Christians today.
The Internet is a great place to
find quality reference material. We want you to know that all
biblical resources contained in our site; however, these
resources are not intended to replace public worship but
rather as providing Bible reference materials. We have five
Bible Study Correspondence Courses, you may order them and you
will find any biblical information from them. The Bible Study
tools and its resources are free to
everyone.
Our mission is to spread the Word of God by
using computer technology to expand God's kingdom and share
the Gospel with all Internet users. Apostle Paul said,
"For I am not ashamed of the gospel
of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for
everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the
Greek. For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from
faith to faith; as it is written," "The just shall live by
faith" (Romans 1:16, 17 NKJ).
 We want you to know
that our proper motivation behind the use of this site is to
glorify and magnify Christ -- not to win an argument.
Apologetic is not for proving the Word of God but simply for
providing a basis of faith, hope, and love. One should have a
gentle and reverent spirit when using apologetic:
"But sanctify Christ as Lord in
your hearts, always being ready to make a defense to every one
who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you,
yet with gentleness and reverence"
(1 Peter 3:15).
We had several deaf
visitors to come and worship with us sometimes. Some deaf
visitors came to visit us from Birmingham, Georgia, North
Carolina, and Tennessee. We thanked them for coming to see us
at Crossroads.
When you are visiting someone or staying in the
city of Jasper, please visit us at Crossroads and we would
love to have you with us. If you plan to visit us and you
don't know where we are located, please click on "Maps" at the left side menu and you
would be able to see three maps at the next
page.
The History of
Deaf Ministry at Crossroads
The deaf
ministry was started March 16th, 1977. Johnny Alexander,
Kathy Alexander, Marvin Windham and Laura Windham began work
in this much-needed area of mission work. For more
information, you may click on "History" at the left side menu and you
will reach at the next page. We thank them for allowing the
deaf ministry to run its own course according to the deaf
culture and sign language.
Richard Robbins is our (itinerant) minister to
the deaf. On the date of April 29, 2001 he began to work among
the deaf every Sunday. Since 2001 the Lord added six precious
deaf souls to His church (Acts 2:38-47). Note: The word
"itinerant" means traveling; passing from place to place, not
settled in local community, or done on a journey such as an
itinerant preacher.
Did you know
that Jesus was an itinerant Savior? He traveled a lot by
walking from village to village in the land of Judea and
Israel.
You may want to watch Richard's sermon on the video program.
He is sharing God's word with you about "The Great
Commission" and please feel free to watch it now.

We were a deaf sinners
but God made us alive together with our Lord and Savior Jesus
Christ. Though we are not a perfect Christians but we are
forgiven through our faith in Christ Jesus! It is so
important for all deaf Christians to have a good fellowship
with Jesus every Sunday and Wednesday. Why? Because God is
faithful, through whom you were called into fellowship with
His Son, Jesus Christ our Lord (1 Corinthians 1:9; 1 John
1:3-7). Do you not know that you are a temple of God, and that
the Spirit of God dwells in you? (1 Corinthians 3:16). So let
us consider how to stimulate one another to love and good
deeds, not forsaking our own assembling together, as is the
habit of some, but encouraging one another; and all the more,
as you see the day drawing near (Hebrews 10:24-25). This is
God's will for all deaf Christians to attend at their local
church regularly for enhancing their biblical knowledge,
strengthening their fruit of the spirit, and fortifying their
faith in God.
God Causes the Growth
Only God
can cause the growth according to the scripture (1 Corinthians
3:6) and that growth will expand continually according to the
power of God for salvation to everyone who
believes (Romans 1:16). He also made us alive together
with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ as our entrance into the
eternal kingdom (Daniel 2:44; Daniel 7:18, 22, 27; Matthew
16:18, 19; Matthew 28:18-20; Acts 2:38-47; Acts 8:12; Romans
6:3, 4; Ephesians 2:4-5; 1 Corinthians 15:22-24; Colossians
1:13; 2 Timothy 4:18; Hebrews 12:28, 29; 2 Peter 1:5-11;
Revelation 5:10; Revelation 11:15). The kingdom of
Christ is here to last forever and He is reigning in heaven
until He comes back again (1 Corinthians 15:21-24).
We
hope you enjoy surfing our web pages and we want you to
share it with your friends!
Once again, we thank you for visiting
